Slipped to 2nd Place in the LeapFish 100K Cash Dash

LeapFish 100k Cash Dash contest is still going on until they reach one million homepage subscribers. I am promoting heavily but have fallen into second place in the contest to win various prizes like a Dell 15″ laptop or an Apple iPAD. I am asking for all my readers help and support by joining me and signing up for the contest.

By signing up all you need to do is enter your email and name, LeapFish will give you 25 points in the contest which go toward the cash prize raffles. You don’t have to participate any further if you don’t want to, but you get additional points by setting LeapFish as your homepage as well as promoting the contest on Twitter and writing blog articles about it.

When LeapFish reaches 25,000 users who set their homepage to LeapFish.com they will give away $1,000 cash to one random person who signed up. This is random drawing and the more points you have the more entries you have in the raffle. LeapFish will continue to make cash prize giveaways as they reach additional milestones where people bookmark their site as their homepage up to the 50K grand prize when they reach 1,000,000 homepages set to LeapFish.com

Who will sign up under me and help me climb back to the top slot? Just click on the banner below and sign up under me, if you would be so kind.

Family Excited about Boston Terrier Picnic Tomorrow

Tomorrow is the AZ Boston Terrier Rescue Spring Party and my family is so excited to be taking our dog porky to Chaparelle park where he will meet and play with many other Boston Terriers. In fact, my wife and I are making home made Boston Terrier head sugar cookies tonight, I plan on molding the cookies and then we will frost them in the typical Boston Terrier black and white facial pattern.

It is sad that our oldest Boston Terrier Gouda (the small brindle one in the above picture) won’t be able to attend the picnic, he passed away last November and his death is still a loss that the family feels every day.

Boston Terriers are such great dogs, they have a permanent smile etched on their faces and are so loving, caring and hardy. The can endure even the most vigorous rough housing of little kids and yet can still be so gentle and affectionate. My wife is the one who first picked out the breed and we have been happy with them ever since. I love all dogs and particularly have liked Border Collie, German Shepard, Old English Mastiff and larger breeds typically, the Boston Terrier is the first smaller breed dog I have owned and they are just great.

Unlimited Web Hosting for $10 Your First Year

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Nexx Online. All opinions are 100% mine.

Nexxbannernoflash

I had never heard of Nexx Web hosting company before now and was amazed at how great a web hosting offer they have going on. You can get Unlimited Web Hosting for only $10 for the first year and this includes 1 free domain name. This is less than a dollar per month for web hosting that includes:

  • Unlimited Disk Space
  • Unlimited Bandwidth
  • Unlimited Email accounts
  • 24×7 Customer Support
  • Multi Sub Domains and websites (you do pay for additional DNS registrations)

This also includes $50 in Google AdWords credits and $50 in FaceBook Ad credits (which I haven’t seen before by my previous hosting plans).

You get $100 in advertising promotion credit just to kick off and get some initial traffic bursts to your website which is a fantastic deal.

Before you think that the rate might reset to something high, the normal annual cost is only $5.95 per month ($71.40) after your first year if you pay for one year, but only $3.95 per month (if you pay for 3 years up front), so you are getting very competitive and comparable rate going forward for unlimited web hosting.

This is shared web hosting of course, but if you are running a website with less than 1000 visits per day this should be ideal as a starter hosting plan and give you the incentive to move off of a Blogger or WordPress.com hosted blog and onto your own self hosted domain.

Nexx offers many 1 click installers and you can easily install WordPress, Joomla, Drupal and Zen Cart at the touch of a button.

The promotion code for the $10 price for the first year is SPARK10 so make sure you use this code when signing up.

Though I haven’t used Nexx as a web hosting provider, I think if you are looking to make the plunge from a blog or site hosted by a free website, this would be a good opportunity for you to test out and use your own self hosted site for a very nominal investment.

So check out Nexx Unlimited Web Hosting and see what they have to offer and if this would be a good deal for you to start up a new blog or website, or migrate your free hosted blog into your own self hosted domain.

All in a Days Yard Work

Off to a busy Thursday morning already where my son woke me up at 5:37 am, I took the time to get him ready for school a little early, play some Iron Man and PlayMobil action hero toy battles with the kids on the floor before starting about an hours worth of yard work, then quickly wrote a few blog posts to queue for my blogs and finally clocked into my day job.  With my work day just starting it feels like I already did a complete days work and I am still tired after having 8 hours of sleep.

Ironically, I actually get energized by being busy early in the morning, if I don’t have something to do it takes me longer to shake off the sleepiness and I tend to have a naturally hyper pace in the morning.  This means though I usually crash pretty quickly and hard about nine at night where I could barely stay away to finish watching a DVD episode of Deadliest Catch last night.

Scrabble Slam: Fast Word Fun

So my family picked up Scrabble Slam a few weeks ago and I it is a really great and fun game to play. I have a six year old who benefits so much by playing this fun variation on scrabble. The game involves cards where all players have seven cards. One four letter word is decided as the starting word of the game, then everyone tries to use a letter one at a time in their hand to change the existing word into a new word.
You can change:
Look to Nook
then Nook to Cook
..etc

You try to change the word as fast as possible and rid yourself of all the cards you carry.
The word is never longer than four letters and you can’t change more than one letter at a time.
This makes it ideal for younger kids to play since they don’t have to worry about building 6 or 7 letter words and being at a disadvantage against most adults in a real game of scrabble.

If you enjoy word games like Scrabble, I highly recommend Scrabble Slam for the family. It is fun to play with two people, but even better with three or four.

Gaining on the LeapFish Cash Dash Contest

So after working hard the last two nights to gain some headway in the LeapFish 100K Cash Dash contest, I have managed to bounce up to 2nd place on the Leaderboard, but have some stiff competition from other people who are looking to claim the prizes. I want the 15″ Dell Laptop and the Apple iPAD and I will continue to push hard for the contest to see if I can reach these milestones.

Check out my video promoting the LeapFish 100K Cash Dash contest, where you could earn money just from signing up and doing some easy and simple things. LeapFish will raffle away $1,000 when they reach their 25,000th user who sets LeapFish as their homepage.

I am actually having a good time promoting this contest and it has prompted me to do 3 YouTube Video’s already for the contest, my first of which is me talking about the contest here:

If you want to help me, leave a comment letting me know if I can send you a referral email to sign up under me. You just have to enter your name, email and password and I collect 30 points for each person who signs up.

Avatar on DVD Today

I already know my evening plans today, I will be done working by around four in the afternoon and my family will be going to dinner (somewhere) and after dinner I will be stopping by Walmart and using my $50 gift card I have been holding for a while to purchase Avatar to watch tonight. I saw the movie only once when it came out in theaters and have been itching to see it again ever since. It easily became one of my top three films of all time and deserved to become the highest grossing movie of all time in my opinion.

Avatar has grossed over 2.7 Billion dollars world wide at the box office according to BoxOfficeMojo.com and the DVD sales are just about to begin, it is conceivable this will film will earn over 3 billion dollars between box office and DVD sales which is truly astounding for a film.

I am also looking forward to seeing James Cameron speak at CA World 2010 in May as a special guest, it will be interesting to see what he has to say to the audience of mostly information technology members.

Update:

Just found out Avatar doesn’t come out until Thursday to be timed with Earth Day, so looks like I won’t be getting it today after all.

New Contest from LeapFish

This morning I signed up for the LeapFish 100K Cash Dash contest, where LeapFish is giving away amazing prizes for people reaching certain point milestones.  Like an iPOD touch for the 1st three people to reach 500 points, or a Samsung 42″ OLED TV for the first three people who reach 6,000 points.

I myself am hoping to earn enough points to win the 15″ Dell Laptop, or the Apple iPad and figure I will have to create quite a few posts and some YouTube video’s talking about LeapFish quickly if I want to have a chance to win those items.

In addition to reaching prizes for certain point milestones (if you can be among the first three to reach that milestone) LeapFish is raffling away cash prizes at set intervals of homepage sets.  Your number of points is your entries into the raffle, and someone could win $100,000 dollars when LeapFish reaches 1,000,000 homepages set to Leapfish.com.

Here is the full list of prizes:

Long Weekend Finally Over

It was tiring couple of nights as I helped my wife run a Rock Along Productions event on Friday night at the Goat Head Saloon in Mesa, and we didn’t get home until 3am almost. Off again to see some local metal bands the next evening where we were out until 2am. Being in the local music scene means having to stay out until ungodly hours and networking and listening to live music nearly every weekend or two locally.

My wife is already hard at work on another event that will be in late June, but her next show which is a music + film screening and is a unique 50’s theme called “Diamonds are a Girls Best Friend” is at the Madcap Theater in Tempe, AZ. This is a Marilyn Monroe and 50’s era tribute show and is very different than the typical rock and roll and metal shows she does more commonly. I am going to have to wear my suit next Saturday (It’s been a while).

Meanwhile back at work with only half a day break this week, I spend four hours on Sunday writing eight blog posts to queue on my blogs so that I wouldn’t have to stay up as many weeknights writing blog articles.

No rest for the weary.

My Mouse is Dying Out

I have been using my cordless Logitech MX 1000 Laser mouse for very close to  six years now, I purchased it in December 2004.   Lately the mouse is plaguing me with double click issues where I click the left mouse button once and it registers two clicks.  There is no way to pop up and try to clean under the mouse button on the MX1000 and the mouse works fine other than this annoying double click, but it slows down my productivity a little and I fear it will keep getting worse.

I actually just want to figure out how to fix the issue, I would prefer not to have to buy a new mouse.  The fact that this mouse house outlived my last 3 computers shows you how high quality this product is and has been for me.  I haven’t even done any research on a new mouse, but when it comes time to replace it I will certainly opt for something that is cordless and doesn’t use standard AA batteries.  I like the mice that can dock and charge in their own stations.  I also need something that has excellent tracking since I do some graphic design and nothing is worse than drawing with a mouse that isn’t precise and moves slightly in directions you aren’t dragging which makes it impossible to draw precise lines.

I also like a mouse that is good for gaming, has more than standard 3 buttons and scroll wheel.  Does anyone have any favorite mice that they like?
