Replaced Liquid CPU Cooler

My iBuyPower system started making some gurgling sounds and it wasn’t hard to trace the noise to the liquid cooling system hooked up to the CPU.  A quick call to iBuyPower and they sent me a replacement liquid CPU cooling system to replace myself, I haven’t done this type of part installation manually before but have built many PC’s in the past and figured I could handle it.

Turns out these liquid CPU systems are pretty well self contained now, and just removing the grill/fan from the case and the part that sits on top of the CPU directly was pretty easy.

I installed the new one and only issue I ran into was that the new liquid CPU fan system had a 4 pin connector and my motherboard had a 3 pin fan connection, I did some research and figured out how to make it work but it will keep the fan on at all times instead of allowing variable speed which is fine for this 1 fan, this wasn’t the fan over the CPU itself but the fan going to the rear of the case anyhow.
