Driving by a Wildfire

While driving back from San Diego to Arizona on the I-8 on Sunday afternoon we saw a fire in the distance, I can’t say for sure but there was a thunderstorm that had just rolled in and I believe the fire was started by a lightning strike.

As we drove up to the fire we realized that it had come dangerously close to the I-8 and I snapped photo’s of it as we drove right past.

Right after this photo the flames were visibly leaping over the hill and racing forward toward the I-8.  I was surprised at just how fast this wildfire was spreading and it made you really consider how dangerous and out of control they get.
