Ate At Mimi’s Cafe Tonight

I just got back an hour ago from eating at Mimi’s Cafe in Casa Grande, AZ over at the Promenade Mall.  I do like Mimi’s and eat there fairly regularly, at least 2x per month I would say.  Their bread basket has only the freshest tasting breads, and they have a very nice menu combining some traditional items with some more fusion and modern items.  I had the Hibachi salmon which had among the best flavor I could ask for, the only problem was 1/2 way through eating the Salmon the other part of my Salmon was almost completely raw and mushy to the fork touch.  I hope I don’t get sick, it isn’t treated salmon like sushi grade salmon is.

The flavor was great, the Sweet Ginger glaze does a great job, I would have had them remake the dish except I had eaten most of it already and was already almost full.  The cod fillet that my wife ordered was also very good, lemon flavored and tender, just a bit bland (which isn’t a bad thing).  The kids enjoyed the Pepperoni Pizzadilla’s that they ordered, kind of like a pizza rolled in a Quesadilla.

I would recommend Mimi’s Cafe, but when ordering the salmon ask that it is cooked well but not overcooked.

Exercise Tip: Quick Boost Of Energy

When I am feeling tired and iced tea or caffeine just isn’t enough to give me a boost, I resort to doing a little physical exertion.  Get my heart pumping as quickly as possible, I don’t have a lot of time to spend and my day job keeps me sitting.  So I have gotten creative with some ways to get my blood pumping quickly and as a result I get a quick almost immediate energy boost within about five to ten minutes after I do it.

Jog up and down a flight of stairs, now I am much more fit than I used to be, so I would have to go up and down a single flight of stairs about 10 times or 15 times in order to get my blood pumping and heart racing fast enough.  So I added a new trick, I carry one 25 pound dumbbells in each hand firmly and then jog up and down a flight of stairs.  Voila, 5 times up and down a flight of stairs and my heart is pounding and my thighs are as if I had climbed 25 flights of steps.  If you are stronger and have more endurance just increase the weight of the dumbbells you carry.

This isn’t just cardio but is great for your thighs and legs as well, but if you have weak ankles or knee’s beware that the extra weight can put some strain.  Also I do this for a quick boost of energy not as a long term workout, but it does do a good job.  I had a boost of energy for about an hour or so.

Just one of my little tips to fit in a spot of exercise wherever you can.

Looking Forward To Vayden Show Tomorrow

I always enjoy going out for a night on the town with my wife and tomorrow we grab a bunch of friends and carpool to Martini Ranch in Scottsdale, Arizona where we will see on of our favorite local rock bands Vayden.  Vayden’s music can be heard on Sirius Octane radio “Children of Our Mistakes” is the name of their album and most popular single but virtually every track on their album is incredible.  They have already done a tour last year with Tantric and I expect to see them rise in fame and popularity around the country in 2009.

Dropping Entrecards Last Night

So I was dropping EC’s and actually reached over 600 EC’s last night and found out some common elements in blogs that I find most disturbing.  The primary being that some blogs have a need to deceive the entrecard logo, and put a fake one at the top of the blog, or in a post and the real one hidden somewhere else.  This can confuse you and is misleading the dropper to create false clicks, I don’t appreciate this kind of deception and try to flag blogs that do this so I will not visit them again. One went so far as to put a completely fake Entrecard with a link to another one of their blogs, while the real entrecard was hidden somewhere else.

I like performing EC dropping as when I see blogs that I like, and have similar content to what I publish on my blogs, I usually will purchase an Entrecard advertisement on those blogs.  I also like to leave comments on posts that capture my interest, and I have been known to stumble or Digg or even tweet somebody else’s post if I felt like sharing it.  I posted someone else’s blog post with a cat picture for example last night.

Word to Entrecard users, have some EC Etiquette and don’t deceive your droppers with false badges or multiple badges.

Valentines Day Is Around The Corner

One of my wife’s wishes is to own a real Rolex watch someday and it is something I look for quite frequently when I browse the various watches online. Perpetual Diamonds is a company that sells new and pre-owned Rolex watches that are in perfect condition. Each watch is inspected, tested finished or refurbished to be as if it were brand new. All purchases are also 100% insured by Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, so anyone who purchased and was dissatisfied would have their money refunded if they were unhappy with the product.

With optional warranties included you can get a certified genuine Rolex watch for literally 50-75% less than if you bought it brand new, such as buying a genuine Rolex for just under $4,000 instead of retailing at almost $11,000 dollars. These are not faux, or imitation Rolexes, but the real and genuine ones.

rolexFor my wife, I would buy her the Ladies Rolex Presidential with diamonds at every hour. We have seen this particular watch in some jewelry stores and it can retail for over $25,000 and to find it online for under $12,000 is a good deal.

A special promo is being advertised for New Year Sale for a limited time they are giving $1,000 off any watch purchased from PerpetualDiamonds.com which makes now the right time to buy, imagine the surprise and excitement on your spouse’s face when you present them with a real Rolex for Valentines day. I know it is one of my goals in life to eventually do this very thing someday, because my wife is worth it.

Exhaustion Sets In

I sit here this evening and realize I have no steam left, I am too tired for blogging any further and can’t drop anymore Entrecards or even do any more social linking. I keep putting off updating my blog catalog network and doing Zimbio and my other social sites. I keep regular on Twitter and Entrecard, but haven’t dropped more than 100 EC’s a night the last few nights. Stress building up has re-invoked my stomach pains to start manifesting, wish I could figure out a way to ease the symptoms of agony stabbing in my stomach.

In the meantime tomorrow is a new day and I hope to wake up fully charged and full of energy, and nothing brightens my day like waking up to the love of my life sleeping beside me.

Sharpening Your Wit

Scientifically it has been shown that playing games of certain types can sharpen your wit and intellect and even stave off some of the ailments associated with aging, such as forgefulness, senility and even help against Alzheimer’s.  Numerous studies have shown that people who played Chess, or other mentally sharpening game had lower incidents of such ailments later in life and that continuing to “use your brain” decreases its rate of decay.  Like the old proverb “use it or lose it” the same holds true with any muscle in the body, if your muscles are not used they will eventually atrophy and weaken.  The brain is another muscle in this way, if you don’t challenge it and keep your mental faculties stimulated and sharpened, it will start to deteriorate.

This is where gaming comes in, whether it be online gaming, internet gaming, board games, but make sure you play games that actually require you to calculate and think to solve them.  Simply playing solitaire does not stimulate enough neurons to really charge the brain cells I would imagine.  A game which has you have to think about multiple possible scenario’s, or solve a puzzle can help keep you mentally sharp.  I enjoy many mental games, role playing games which are centered on vast numbers, calculations for attack, damage, hit points, experience, skills, feats and require much involvement and thought I find are good constructive ways to stimulate my brain.  I also play chess, stratego, risk and other games whenever I get a chance.

Writing is found to be another way to stimulate your brain and prevent the same mental decline or at least help slow the rate at which it occurs, creating poetry, literature, reading does this to some effect but not as much as writing as writing you have to imagine and think of the words rather than just see them and repeat them.  Everyone can use mental wit sharpening and there is even cases of games specifically designed for this such as Brain Age for Nintendo DS and Nintendo Wii.  Soduku I imagine is another game that helps stimulate as it requires you to figure out patterns and sequences of numbers which range in complexity.

Bottom line is that the brain is another muscle and need not be wasted when you can keep it stimulated so it will stay intact for years to come.

This is just one of my personal insights, and isn’t based solely on medical fact, if you read Science Daily and Medical Journals you will see there are studies that show that games and mental exercises help combat mental degeneration but they are just studies, there is no scientific proof, yet it would make sense when you think about it.

One Impressive News and Entertainment Portal

I have to say that Clear365.com was one of the more impressive news and entertainment web sites that I have visited recently. The thing that stands out right away is how clean and colorful the interface is. It is simply a visually appealing home page and far from the typical bland news sites.

As soon as you hit the site you can clearly see which categories of entertainment you are interested in reading about, listening to or watching. An example of this is if you simply click on Music you are presented with the latest in Digital Music News. You have instant visibility to new releases, top stories, and seeing the single and album top charts. You can search by artists, just browse and listen to variety of music or purchase directly from the site if you want.

For those of you who are addicted to the Latest Celebrity News you can click on Entertainment button and have access to celebrity news, buzz, movie previes, celebrity photos, TV Show lists and watch streaming television episodes.

For those of you looking for pure latest news without any of the frills, Clear365’s Online News Portal brings you all the top headlines, featured stories, global news, business news and science articles.

In addition to all of these, there is a Games section to play all the latest online free games like Bejeweled 2, Risk, Zuma Delux and many more.

One thing even more impressive about the site is if you create an account you can create your own widgets that have a little bit of everything all at your fingertips on your own portal. You can have a few modules of entertainment, a few of music, a few games…etc.

I encourage you to give this site a try you may find it easier to navigate and have more media at your disposal than Google News, CNN or other sites which are very narrow in focus.

Return From Vegas

It was a wild few days in Vegas for the new year. The strip had over 100 thousand people on it, literally we were crushed shoulder to shoulder and packed like sardines. You could probably fill a small lake with the amount of booze flowing.

New Years day was spent at the casino, betting on ponies and just hanging with my wife and the two friends we stayed with who were very generous for inviting us. I probably would have had more success with playing on slotsofvegas.com than I had in the casino those nights however and I lost some of my loot at blackjack and a few Lobstermania slots.

I am really optimistic about the new year and am looking forward to it.
