What Is A Loquat Tree?

I had never even heard of Loquat trees was just something that never crossed my path before, so I decided to do some research to solve my curiousity. Apparently a Loquat is a fruit native to Southeastern China, Though they are well tolerated and planted in other parts of the world and can be grown in California quite well apparently.

The fruit is an orange yellow color and unlike most other fruit tree’s it ripens in the fall/winter rather than the spring. Apparently it is related to the apple but from the pictures I have seen it looks like an oval orange or lemon. It is also used as an ornamental tree.

So now I know what a Loquat Tree is, and since I researched it I won’t soon forget.

Funny how when you don’t know what something is, some people are driven to research it until they found out. I mean previously in the “olden days” you had to ask people or go to the library and find a book. Now you can just Google or Wiki anything and have your answers.

Personal Blogs About Children

I have often wondered while Entrecard dropping about all of the (mostly mom’s) who write blogs about their children’s lives from babies to toddlers and as they grow up through the years.  I think its funny how some blogs post photo’s of kids either in a bath tub, or covered in mud, or in some other embarassing situation.  If these blogs live on for years, what end of embarassment will kids have as their friends and other kids from school search for their names on Google only to find out all the embarassing stuff about them as a young kid that was posted publicly.

Now most people honestly post their lives and everything that is going on which is totally cool, but I question posting things that may embarrass your kids later in life.  Socializing is hard enough, you don’t need to make bullseye targets out of them on the web.  Fortunately most people use only first names, but it isn’t hard to find people these days.  This is why I may mention my kids and something they have done, but I won’t post pictures of my family or kids on my blog.  I don’t even reveal their names, because my personal blog is about me and my struggles, but I don’t want to expose the rest of my family anymore than I have to to tell my adventures and stories in life.

After all, I chose to share this information about myself publicly they didn’t.

Just one of my thoughts and insights, you may or may not agree.

Getting A Pedicure

So my wife and I have a creative thing going to keep our relationship fresh. We alternate taking each other out on dates. Last night we go out for Mexican & Manicures. More accurately I got a pedicure while she got both a manicure and pedicure. We went to her favorite place on Pinal Ave called Villago Nails, and I was looking forward to doing something unique (for me anyway) again. I had gotten 1 pedicure before on a cruise back in December 2007 so it had been a while.

I don’t know if it is like this for everyone, but getting a 20 minute pedicure is like some strange torture. There is a mixture of tickling, pinching, scratching, grinding and rubbing as they trim nails, dead skin, massage feet and calves.  I am also a little ticklish and could barely keep from squirming while the lady was buffing my heels and filing my toenails. Grins, chuckles and the occasional cough got me through it.

My pedicure was finished in twenty minutes but she had another two hours to go with a full set being done on her fingers, so I moseyed over to Fry’s grocery store and bought some energy drinks, AMP was on sale $1 per can, and some banana’s, chocolate, strawberries and a dozen pink roses for my lady.  There was a man in the store wearing a beanie who looked at me kind of funny because all I had was fruit, chocolate and flowers in my basket at one point.

In the end my feet feel nourished and softer than any mans feet should feel. My toe nails actually look nice with their clear polish and I am feeling in touch with my feminine side now.

Thought this would be a funny story to share with everyone.

My Latest Work Out Routine

So I have been working out on average 3-4 days per week and spending about 1/2 to one hour on my work outs. Usually it is in my office, where all of my exercise equipment is, and I blast some music on my WinAmp.

My typical music tracks include Distrubed, White Zombie, Megadeth, Joe Satriani, Blue Man Group or anything with fast and heavy drum beats and loud guitars. The angrier the music the more it helps me with my adrenalin rush.

My workout includes Pull Ups, Push Ups, Jack Knifes, Sit Ups, Benching Weights, Leg Curls, Bicep Curls, Running up and down steps carrying 25lb weights.

My muscles are usually sore but not unpleasantly so by the end of the 20-30 minutes, and my breath is usually gone. My heart beating rapidly, and I drink usually 2 eight ounce glasses of water over the 20 minutes I work out to keep hydrated.

I always feel really good after my workouts, I really do feel a “high” as one would get from the surge of adrenaline. I encourage everyone to try working out more, and do more muscle workouts. They have more impact and make you feel better and take less time from your day than cardio. You get more calorie bang for the buck.

1 minute of hard exercise is worth like 6 of cardio only exercise as far as calorie loss and muscle gain. (I am just guessing those numbers based on some facts I read somewhere).

Balancing Work Life And Home Life

My friends I have read numerous posts lately about bloggers having to shut down their blogs due to their blog work interfering with their home life or work life.  Seriously people get so addicted to blogging that they spend hours at night blogging instead of spending time with the family.  I find myself in a similar situation where my blogging time is shrinking due to my work load at my day job getting much larger, and my home life needing more of my attention.  As a result I find that I have to cut my blogging time a little bit.

I am still doing the best I can to manage and update my blogs with 1 new post per day where I can, but I no longer have the 2 hours per day to devote to Entrecard drops that I did previously.  I have decided to reduce my EC dropping because keeping up with my blog posting and content is more important than dropping.  Though I will see a hit to my blogs visits per day, I am sure updating your blog more frequently is more important than the extra 30-50 visits per day.

As a word of advice, never prioritize work over your family if you can avoid it.  Family is always more important, your partner who is at your side and needs equal commitment from you.  Your kids who only are this age once and you will kick yourself if you don’t spend every minute you can with them, because they will grow up and those opportunities will not come back.  Think “Cat and the Cradle” my friends, don’t miss out on your family’s lives just because you trap yourself on your computer all day long.

Balance is key, find a nice work/home balance.  If blogging is your hobby carve out 1 hour per night to do it when the kids are in bed, and make sure your partner has time with you first or you both do something close together.  If you can’t get what you need done in an hour, then put it off or re-prioritize.

Obscure And Funny Job Titles

So I was doing some trivia hunting and found some of the most unusual Job titles and descriptions for what the job is, it is amazing what types of positions and titles are out there. Be glad you are doing your job because you could be one of the following: I found this information from the following 2 sites: JobMob.co.il and VitaminQ.blogspot.com

Skull Grinder – is a person who cleans ear and nose passages of brained pig heads

Mother Repairer – is someone who improves metal phonograph record matrices

Chick Sexer – someone who inserts illuminating tool into baby birds to determine gender

Okay my favorite job title that I have found is someone who is a PHP Ninja.

There are thousands of job titles and some of them are more obscure than one called a Fandemonium director in my opinion.

What Funny job titles have you heard of or found?

Synthetic Grass Is Worth The Money

When we bought our semi custom home three years ago it came with a default choice range of commercial landscaping but we chose to customize and upgrade to better make our house more visually appealing and add some style.

I can personally tell you when we paid to have artificial grass put in our backyard it was worth the money, you don’t ever have to mow it, you just sweep it with a broom and vacuum it with a shop vac and it always stays beautiful looking. My kids play on it every day and it really makes the yard look nicer. For those of you who like to practice golfing at home you can even put in synthetic putting greens which allow you to play and practice anytime without ever having to mow the yard.

I have even seen artificial playground turf which is textured and provides varied grass sizes for different sports. I have seen some people have really nicely manicured backyards with taller grass on the outskirts and shorter grass in the middle it provides a quite realistic look.

I have real grass in the front yard and I always have to maintain this small patch mowing it weekly, it dies every six months, but my artificial turf in the yard is three years old and looks as good as new when I vacuum it and brush it. I live in Arizona so even the one hundred and fifteen degree summers don’t fade or damage my artificial turf, though it does get very hot in the summer time and you can’t step on it with bare feet.

I would recommend Artificial Turf to anyone hands down and even some friends and coworkers have bought it for their homes after seeing it in my own, I have been to Las Vegas recently and many of the hotels are using Synthetic Grass now on their properties.

EasyTurf’s website is easy to use and allows you to find a local showcase in your area.  They have a nice photo gallery, FAQ and information about artificial turf and links to any type of product that you are looking for.  I encourage you to check it out and inquire within.
