Tweaking RSS Feeds for DragonBlogger.com

This post contains affiliate links.

So this week I had been working on updating the DragonBlogger.com RSS Feeds so that I would no longer just offer 1 general feed for the site, but instead allow readers to choose a feed based on their area or topic of interest.  This included Technology, Gaming, Entertainment, Blogging feeds to be setup on Feedburner and configured for customized emails, Pingshot and share buttons.

Now with separate feeds it will start to dilute the amount of “single” # of subscribers button, I don’t have an easy way to display the # of subscribers from multiple feed sources combined so not sure the best approach to manually share the # of subscribers or just leave off the number of subscribers altogether.

I have read that advertisers look at that Feedburner chicklet and seeing thousands of subscribers is a good indication of strong loyal mail following for sure.

Either way, I just wanted to make it easier for readers to get the articles they were most interested in as I had some people unsubscribing whenever an article posted that wasn’t in the topic they particularly wanted to read.

I also had some feedburner issues that I had to resolve with my feed size being overlimit earlier in the week.

If you want to check out the DragonBlogger RSS Feed page and see how I set it up with various feeds and subscription options click the link and share your feedback.
