Blog Theme Woes Resolved

I was having assorted theme issues recently on DragonBlogger.com with my featured slider and category highlights bars being broken on my homepage for non-logged in users.  This happened when I switched from the Sharebar plugin to the Digg Digg WordPress plugin and I worked with both the Theme Developer and Digg Digg team to find a solution, but it was the Theme developer who pointed me to W3 Total Cache as being the potential culprit.

In the end I was able to trace the issue and confirmed the problem was with the Minify functionality of W3 Total Cache causing my featured sliders to break but only when Digg Digg was enabled.  I am still not sure why the combination of Digg Digg + Minify broke the featured sliders, but either way I disabled Minify and corrected other issues on my blog.

I also took the opportunity to update the theme files to the latest version of the theme but forgot to keep track of all my customizations to single.php, header.php and footer.php which caused me to have to manually correct all my files to add in my customizations again which was a time consuming process.

Combine this with me rebuilding my home PC Operating System to my new SSD drive and I had an extremely busy week in my off hours which involved me getting up early and working late nights.
