Keeping Up With the Social Sites

Sometimes I wish I could develop some custom software that can parse through all the social networking and article sites and submit my articles automatically. I mean it takes more time to promote your content than it actually does to write the content on your blogs, and when you run as many blogs as I do, it means you not only have to write 21 posts per week, but try to find time to promote the articles in the right social sites and networks.

You can’t submit poetry and personal blog posts on technology social networks, so I had to build a vast array of different social networks each to fit my own blog themes. I tried to simplify this by using Firefox folders, but it still takes far too long to submit content. That is one of the biggest things they don’t tell you about blogging when you first start out, that even though you can have good and constant content churning out, if you aren’t promoting and networking it is like having a concert in the middle of an abandoned desert.

In the meantime, back to writing more content and promoting, it seems like an endless cycle.

Blogging can control you if you let it. By having some time off work and thus having more time for other things, I found out that life is more important than blogging. Sure, it would be nice to have hundreds of blog followers, but if I don’t, so what? It’s just not that important in the scheme of things.

Well that’s how it works. Otherwise you’ll be buried along with your site. Kudos to your hard work.

Which is why I just went fishing on Sunday and spend 8 hours away from all computers and Internet to be with family.

    Thank you for reading.

  5. LOL!! So very true. I actually have a life also like you and it is sooo very frustrating like you said. Try adding on top of that for some of us who just happen to be introverts and it gets even more frustrating (LOL). But it is necessary none the less. I really enjoy your blog here and I added you to friends, I also plan to check out your tech blog. Take Care and visit my blogs when you can.

I know exactly how do you feel, Justin. Anyway it’s good to focus on the content untill such software is born!

Yep, that is what I have been doing, but I found a slew of new blog directories I wasn’t part of this week.

I agree, it is easier to write a post than making people know that you have a new post and generate buzz or interest around it.

And for me personally, it is the most taxing part of blogging.

    Hopped from Jan’s post…:D

Thanks for your input, always harder to “promote” than to create? I am sure that’s true with almost any business as well.
