Rejected Star Wars Toys

image

Epic stories like the Star Wars movies are much more than box-office hits, they are legends that live and grow in the imaginations of people. The six movie series has inspired everything from collectibles to comics to video games. With the Star Wars brand, surely any product could find eager and willing customers right? Here is a look at some of the rejected Star Wars Toys over the years:

Inflatable Emperor’s Throne

image

Nothing says leadership and being in charge like the Emperor’s throne. Since the throne is inflatable, it is portable and easy to take anywhere inside or outside. Even though this Star Wars inflatable throne may not have made it to production, it would make a pretty awesome gaming chair for a dedicated Star Wars fan.

R2-D2 Portable Wet Bar

Now this is one awesome Star Wars product idea that would be both extremely useful and awesomely nerdy at the same time. The loveable robot has an ice tray, a storage place for drinks, and cup holders on the top for convenient access. Now if only it could mix drinks and deliver then maybe this wet bar would be in fans’ homes everywhere.

Cloud City Desk Lamp

Some of the best movie products are those that have actual functionality like this Cloud City Desk Lamp made as a replica of the most famous Tibanna Gas mine in the galaxy. The lamp gives off a glow that makes the cloud city look like a space ship beaming people on the ground into the ship. No office would be complete without one, too bad it was also rejected.

Galactic Big Game Trophies

Have you ever wanted one of those deer heads that fits perfectly over the fire place? If you are a Star Wars fan, this is even better. Why settle for normal Earth-like animals when you could have the toughest game from Star Wars hanging from your wall. These Galactic Big Game Trophies would have been a big hit with Star Wars fans who also like to hunt.

Yoda Backpack

Yoda may be wise and talk in riddles, but he is still a cute little green man that would be perfect to carry around as a pet. This Star Wars Yoda backpack actually became a reality and looks like you are giving Yoda a piggy back ride when you wear it. It has room for several books and a few other accessories making it useful for light travel.

Maybe the force just wasn’t with these unfortunate toys that didn’t catch on. With the hundreds and thousands of various distractions and forms of entertainment out there, only the best and most catchy products can survive. Just like Episode One…
