Only eating the stalks gives you the negative calories, because the fibroid cellulose in the stalks is hard to digest. I was not aware that celery had any natural sodium that posed a risk, but know most people put salt on celery or use peanut butter with it (which contains sodium in itself)

Imagine the poor, desperate dieters who have shelled out the big bucks for this "secret." I would add to your cautions: For anyone on a severely sodium-restricted diet, celery intake should be somewhat limited. It is higher than many veggies in sodium, if I recall correctly. Good thing my sodium intake isn't limited, and I LOVE celery, huh?

Do you really get the same caloric benefits from supplements, seeds, or oils, though? I would think it's the raw stalks that you'd need.
