I wrote a guest post about Relationships and how people need to respect each other which can be lost or forgotten if you have spent a great deal of time with someone. My article is hosted on It Might Be Love, and is titled Relationship Advice: The Respect Factor. It is a recommended read for anyone in a committed relationship and is solid relationship advice or you can take it as marriage advice.

That was a good article. Also instead of taking five seconds to think if what you’re going to say will be respectful, it can also be a very good idea to ask the partner questions about the issue at hand, otherwise a discussion can quickly become a “defending statements” competition where it can sometimes get ugly if it becomes a “blame the other person” instead

Very good point, communication is key, and doing it without either side losing temper and saying something that will be regretted later is important.
